Today, in the United States, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act—a milestone worth celebrating because for four decades, utilities and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have worked together, and invested heavily, to ensure that our drinking water is not only safe, but that it remains a top priority in our country. In honor of this anniversary, CH2M HILL's Global Technology Director Brock McEwen raises a glass to not only safe drinking water, but the game-changing technologies that exist today to make our water supplies safer and more abundant, through innovations like potable reuse.
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) will host their Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE), June 8-12. This year, water professionals are heading to the northeast and will convene in Boston to share innovative ideas and technical expertise at ACE14. Dr. Russell Ford shares a glimpse of CH2M HILL’s participation in the conference.
Neil Reynolds, CH2M HILL Regional Managing Director for Middle East and North Africa and India, joins experts at the International Water Summit in Abu Dhabi this week to talk about water and energy conservation, as well as renewable energy in desalination. In his blog, Neil discusses the significance of good governance and leadership to motivate behavioral change when it comes to incentivizing individuals to conserve water and energy. The water-energy nexus was a hot topic at the inaugural International Water Summit and it continues to be a topic of discussion this year, especially as more organizations recognize the value of managing water and energy use to deliver long-term cost savings and achieve greater efficiency in their operations.
CH2M HILL is pleased to announce its participation in the second International Water Summit, hosted by Masdar and co-located with the 7th World Future Energy Summit at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, January 20-22, 2014. Part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the Summit will gather leaders from the global water community in policy, business, academia, and science to accelerate the development of new sustainable water strategies and technologies for arid regions and bring to life the pressing issue of water security, sustainability, and the water-energy-food nexus. CH2M HILL is a global leader in developing and delivering sustainable water and energy solutions and is looking forward to participating in several key discussions.
